Summaries On Two Artists

Summaries on two artists:

Margaret Preston- Margaret Preston (1875-1963) is a historical Australian artist who painted native Australian flora and still lives. She was born in Melbourne and went to the National Gallery of Victoria Art School. She grew up in a rich family where tea parties and other leisure activities were common. She was friends with another Australian artist named Thea Proctor, but in the end jealousy got in the way.

Ricky Swallow- Ricky Swallow (1974) grew up in Australia with a fisherman for a father, so he wasn’t rich. He is considered a post-modern artist. He makes sculptures, models, dioramas, replicas and miniatures out of everyday objects such as metal, bone and wood.
